Life in the States was supposed to be a new beginning, but a boy obsessed by vengeance has no time for the American dream. To honor his familia, Javier joins the gang who set up his cousin's murder. Will their relationship work or will the pressure off other people drive them apart?
Javier and Melissa have wanted each other since they first met in school but when tragedy struck in Javier's family, he goes into "self destruct" mode. He want's revenge.
Melissa want's to keep her head down and too stay out of trouble, she has her own problems and secrets to deal with.
With Javier's mum against her boys starting a relationship with a white girl (believing only a Latino girl is good enough), will Javier stand up to his mum and truly go for what he wants. Will they get there happily ever after?
I loved how the relationship grew between Javier and Melissa. My heart was in my throat at one point in the story (I thought she lost him). A truly unforgettable book that readers will love.
